Scientist¹, Engineer², Creator^3,4

A scientist is a person who practices thinking, the act of connecting that which is apparently unconnected, in search of the truth; and who reports their findings, which are the truth as they believe it to be, to the community of scientists with the goal of aligning humanity with the reality of nature. ↑

An engineer is a person who rigorously applies the knowledge of their field to build a system that manipulates our world to repeatably achieve a goal or purpose. ↑

A creator is a person who generates novelty in the human experience. ↑

I claim to be a scientist, an engineer and a creator. As such I should support those claims. I studied Physics and Nuclear Engineering as an undergrad at MIT, earning both degrees. I presented my Nuclear Engineering thesis to the Institute of Nuclear Power Operators in Atlanta. After graduating I joined Boston MicroSystems where I learned material science and developed ultra-trace (ppt) detection systems. I coauthored two published, peer-reviewed scientific papers with the team, earning me an Erdős number¹ of 6. When Apple launched the iPhone, I taught myself computer science and began my career writing code. I cofounded Socially Conscious Software LLC and personally created dozens of apps and games over the years, many are still available on the App Store and online. As AI and in particular LLMs have become what they are, I stay on top of it by using these tools every day to create, explore, and learn. Part of my reasons for this website is, as a scientist, to report back the truth as I believe it to be when it comes to AI and other topics. ↑
